Keith Urban's ripCORD Tour heads to New Hampshire July 2nd and 3rd

Keith Urban's ripCORD Tour will head to the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion this weekend, with shows on Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd.  While the Saturday night show is sold out, some tickets still remain for the Sunday night engagement.  Urban is joined on tour by Brett Eldredge, along with rising country star Maren Morris.  The show promises to feature Urban's signature high-energy packed performance.  Recent sets lists have included fifteen number #1 singles, as well as collaborations with his two openers including "Someone Like You" with Eldredge and Morris taking on Miranda Lambert's role in "We Were Us".

Urban is currently celebrating the success of 20th Billboard Country Airplay Chart chart-topper this week with the infectious, summer anthem “Wasted Time.” The song marks Urban’s third (“John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” and “Break On Me”) from his record-breaking album RIPCORD, which spent its first two debut weeks atop album charts in three countries (U.S., Canada, Australia) – an achievement unmatched by any other male country artist.

"Twenty #1 songs is beyond my wildest dreams - and playing many of them "live” on this tour, is like the ball dropping on New Year's Eve!!," said Urban in a release.

“Wasted Time,” co-written by Grammy-award winning producer Greg Wells, J Hart and Urban, also extends Urban’s historic run of consecutive Billboard Country Airplay Chart Top 10s, a streak of 36 that is the longest running active streak in the chart’s 26-year history.

Cerus Bright share new song "American Dream"

Cereus Bright are excited to share the second single off their forthcoming debut album, Excuses, due out July 29th. The track, “American Dream,” is premiering on Consequence of Sound today, who praise the song’s “honeyed harmonies and cheery acoustic guitar” that augment its sober message. Far from reflecting a gauzy view of the United States, the band shares that the song was inspired by debunking the myth of the “American Dream” and that “writing this song was a way for us to vent some of our frustration.” Excuses was produced by the Knoxville band’s own Evan Ford and mixed by Tom Schick (Wilco, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Beck) at Wilco’s Chicago Studio, creating a powerful, unique, and expansive sound. At the moment, Cereus Bright is on a national “Closeup” tour, a series of hand-crafted dates across the United States where they are bringing their songs to life in intimate spaces and venues. Cereus Bright was born out of a blind love of playing music. Meeting each other on a porch in Knoxville, TN, founding members Tyler Anthony and Evan Ford connected over a shared passion–connecting with people by writing and performing meaningful, melodic songs.  “We didn’t know what we were doing at the beginning,” recalls Anthony (acoustic guitar, vocals). “Evan and I wanted to play music and were ready to work hard. So we made a couple EPs and started travelling around the South playing for whoever would listen. We were learning as we went.”

They quickly found kindred spirits in Luke Bowers (drums), Matt Nelson (bass), and Jake Smith (electric guitar).  Jazz performers by trade, the trio’s musicality complemented the raw energy of Anthony and Ford, and Cereus Bright soon became a five-piece.  “We knew right away that we wanted these guys in the band,” says Ford (mandolin, electric guitar, vocals). “Every song felt better with them playing it; we could do more with the arrangements and sound. It made us even more excited to get out there and play.”

So that’s what they did. In the coming year, Cereus Bright played over a hundred tour dates across the country, opening for acts like Sturgill Simpson, The Oh Hellos, Philip Philips and The Lone Bellow. They released videos racking up over 200,000 views and gained over a million plays on Spotify, and gathered thousands of fans.

Their debut album Excuses, recorded at a serene farm nestled in the rolling hills outside of Knoxville, is a decisive step forward from their past EPs, showing newfound complexity in songwriting, arrangements and sound. The full band’s musicality and cohesion shines, at times dipping into folk influences of Bob Dylan and Damien Rice and growing to rock-and-roll heights inspired by Wilco and The Band. Ford recalls, “We decided to evaluate everything we had done in the past and see if it belonged in the future. It was a process of figuring out who we are as a band. What we ended up with is an album that’s more mature, sonically diverse, and has more to say than anything we’ve put out. ”

Singer-Songwriter Jordyn Mallory’s Debut EP Now Available on iTunes

Jordyn Mallory’s debut EP featuring the CMT spotlighted “Boat Friend” is now available oniTunes. The self-titled EP, originally released via Spotify this May, consists of four tracks compiling Mallory’s “southern pop” style with her witty and flirty lyricism. The EP transitions through multiple levels of emotion from the ultimate summer anthem “Boat Friend,” to the storytelling ballad “Southern Belle.” “Boat Friend,” written by Mallory with Greg Becker and Mike Shimshack, is the single release from the EP. The music video premiered on CMT’s Artist Discovery campaign and is available for viewing here. “Two summers ago, I was in a Jeep with my girlfriends when one of the girls said ‘I really wanna be single this summer but we need to find some guys with a boat,’ and I said ‘You don’t want a boyfriend, you need a boat friend.’ Everyone laughed and I immediately knew I was going to write that song,” said Mallory. At 24, the Okolona, Miss native is already making her mark within the music industry. In 2010, Mallory won a position on Simon Fuller’s If I Can Dream series on Hulu.com and later became a contestant on the eleventh season of American Idol. Mallory has since been the opening act for Loretta Lynn, Jake Owen, and more.  Additionally, she is already earning herself a name within the songwriting community and has co-written cuts with Kip Moore and Dan Couch.
