Josh Abbott Band plays The Sinclair tomorrow night with Carly Pearce and Tucker Beathard

Photos from Country Music Hub @ HOB Boston 3-8-15

Josh Abbott Band returns to New England this week, playing Wednesday night at The Sinclair in Cambridge.  The band will be supported by openers Carly Pearce and Big Machine's Tucker Beathard.  Pearce can be found on JAB's newest single, 'Wasn't that Drunk'.  Tickets to the show are $15 in advance or $17 the day of the show.

Josh Abbott Band features lead singer and guitarist, and the band's namesake, Josh Abbott with Edward Villanueva on drums, Caleb Keeter on guitar and James Hertless on the bass.  Preston Wait's fiddle and Austin Davis' banjo come across dynamically live.  The band recently released their fourth full length album, Front Row Seat.  The band has gained a strong following around the country with their traditional country sound and fun party anthems.  Front Row Seat is a departure from those uptown beats with more serious, mature subject matter and tones.  The album tells the personal tales of Abbott's relationship with his now ex-wife.  The album's first single, 'Amnesia' was written by renowned Nashville songwriters Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.

Pearce, who has toured with Hunter Hayes, Florida Georgia Line and Lucy Hale.  She made her Grand Ole Opry debut May 30th.  You can follow her on Facebook, twitter, and instagram.  Check out this great acoustic version of her song, 'Blame the Whiskey'.

Beathard, the son of two time BMI songwriter of the year Casey Beathard, will hit the road this summer on Dierks Bentley's Somewhere on a Beach tour, also featuring Cam and Randy Houser.  Bearthard is currently working on his debut album.  You can follow him on facebook, twitter, and instagram.  Check out his song, 'Faithful' below.

Much anticipated, "Pawn Shop" is available from Brothers Osborne today!

The much-anticipated debut album from The Brothers Osborne, Pawn Shop, was released today.  The songs that helped them gain recognition are featured, including “Rum and “Stay a Little Longer” (currently number 3 on the charts).  The duo, comprised of John and TJ Osborne, moved to Nashville separately to pursue their country music careers but soon realized they had something special when playing together.  The band’s own musicians are featured on the album, giving it a full band sound among musicians that have spent countless hours playing together.  The album features both twangy, traditional sounding country songs to southern rock.  Superb song writing is on display throughout, along with TJ’s phenomenal baritone vocals and John’s background harmonies and amazing guitar skills make Pawn Shop an album to remember.

Purchase "Pawn Shop" on iTunes or Google Play.  Vinyl and tee shirt packages are also available from http://www.brothersosborne.com/

Follow Brothers Osborne on:

1. "Dirt Rich" (Brothers Osborne, Barry Dean)
The album opens with a fun, boot stomping play on words with ‘Dirt Rich’.
Favorite Lyrics:
Squeaky screen door with a hole
big enough
To let the neighborhood bugs inside

2. "21 Summer" (Brothers Osborne, Craig Wiseman)
This track is a nostalgic look back at the one that got away.
Favorite Lyrics:
I hope you find the storm that you were chasin’
I hope your eyes are still full of dreams

3. "Stay a Little Longer" (Brothers Osborne, Shane McAnally)
The #3 song in the country is also the third track, about that awkward relationship place when you’re together but you’re not together and maybe broken up features my favorite guitar solo, ever.
Favorite Lyrics:
And you walk right in
To one more, here we go again

4. "Pawn Shop" (Brothers Osborne, Sean McConnell)
At the CD release party, TJ said when the originally sent in the title track, ‘Pawn Shop’,  the label thought it was “a little weird” and they knew they had something special.
Favorite Lyrics:
Buy a cheap gold necklace
With a strangers name

5. "Rum" (Brothers Osborne, Barry Dean)
A fun party, with a twist at the end when you find out this rum isn’t being drank at some tropical vacation, but in the backyard.
Favorite Lyrics:
We got a tarp in a truck bed
A kiddie pool, slip and sled
Let that garden hose run

6. "Loving Me Back" (Brothers Osborne, Casey Beathard)
A true, traditional country love song featuring the fabulous LeeAnn Womack.
Favorite Lyrics:
But I’ve finally found something worth lovin’
That’s loving me back

7. "American Crazy" (Brothers Osborne, Ross Copperman)
One of my favorite tracks on the album, it has a Springsteen-esque vibe to it while reminding us that we’re all crazy Americans.
Favorite Lyrics:
We’re lovers and leavers
And we’re sinners and believers

8. "Greener Pastures" (Brothers Osborne, Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris)
“Greener Pastures” has a lot of clever play on words- we aren’t talking about the grass out back.  Or maybe we are.
Favorite Lyrics:
So you can plant your garden where you used to chew my ass

9. "Down Home" (Brothers Osborne, Jessi Alexander)
Another fun song about the trouble you can find when the sun goes down.
Favorite Lyrics:
My, my, amen
Just wait till the stars come out
There’s a whole lotta something going down, down, down
Down home

10. "Heart Shaped Locket" (TJ Osborne, Lisa Carver and Andi Zack)
TJ’s baritone and range are on full display in this track about cheatin’ hearts.
Favorite Lyrics:
Your kiss goodbye doesn’t hit quite right
And neither does your alibi

11. "It Ain't My Fault" (Brothers Osborne, Lee Thomas Miller)
You’ll want to clap along with the chorus, and if you’re at the show, TJ will make you.
Favorite Lyrics:
I got my hands up
I need an alibi
Find me a witness
Who can testify

Robby Johnson releases debut album, "Don't Look Back"

Robby Johnson’s album, Don’t Look Back, is now available.  The album, which debuted in physical form in Johnson's hometown province of Quebec, Canada in November has held steady as the #3 country album in Canada.  Don't Look Back was the number one downloaded country album on iTunes on Tuesday.  Of debuting at #1, Johnson said, "It was like, 'Woah, wait a minute. I'm not Blake Shelton or Luke Bryan.  It's cool to know fans are appreciating the music."

The 13-track album was produced by James Stroud who has previously worked with the likes of Tim McGraw and Chris Young.  Having Stroud on the album was really opened doors as far as song choice was concerned, and helped land Vince Gill on guitar for 'I Ain't the Guy'.  "When we started mixing the song, it wasn't working.  James reached out to Vince and when it came back, we heard what it had been missing," says Johnson.

The album features songwriting from Johnson himself, as well as renowned writers like Shane McNally, Josh Osborne, Trever Rosen, Ashley Gorley, and Sam Hunt to name a few.  For the album, Johnson co-wrote five tracks: 'Don't Look Back', 'I Ain't the Guy', 'Moment', 'Anything but Ordinary', and 'There You Are'.  The album features a mix of sounds, something that Johnson prides himself on, "I don't want to be stuck with one sound.  I want to do whatever I feel like doing.  What's important to me is that the essence and lyrics are country".

Johnson burst onto the country music scene last March when, 'South of Me', his debut single’s music video, went viral and even landed him a coveted slot on The Late Show with David Letterman.  To date, the video has over 2.9 million Youtube views.

Johnson moved to Nashville from French-speaking province of Quebec to pursue a career in country music in 2012.  The biggest adjustment, Johnson says was on his sons.  He says, "Now they're happy about it.  Learning English has opened up the world to them."  Of his new city, Johnson says, "There's so many cool things about Nashville. There's new restaurants opening every week so there's always something new to do."

Johnson is eager to get back on the road.  "That's what I'm most looking forward to is getting out there and performing for the fans," said Johnson.  He's looking forward to returning to Quebec and is working with radio stations across the country to plan his next tour.  Johnson says even his new music is quickly gaining steam.  "The reaction has been awesome.  We have people singing along on the chorus."  Johnson hopes to announce tour dates soon.  In the meantime, check out the third track off the album, 'Shady' was written by Luke Laird, Shane McAnally, and Sam Hunt is a laid-back summer track.
