JB and the Moonshine Band release new single, "Shotgun, Rifle, and a .45"

JB and the Moonshine Band will release their third studio album, Mixtape, on June 30, and lead off single, “Shotgun, Rifle, and a .45” will be available for download and hit Texas radio on May 26.  Check out the teaser for the video below and pick it up in iTunes.

This year, the band will play the 1000th live performance of their career, and will tour the U.S. in their Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine co-branded tour bus they have affectionately named “Ole Smoky.” The band continues to average 175 live tour dates per year, which they’ve done for the last two years in markets spanning across 40 states. Hailing from East Texas, JB and the Moonshine Band’s story can only be explained as ‘fate.’ Comprised of drummer Gabe Guevara, guitarist Hayden McMullen, bassist Chris Flores and lead singer and guitarist JB Patterson, JB and the Moonshine Band was formed in 2009 when JB decided to give up his advertising career and start a band. When JB coordinated an open call audition in Tyler, TX, only three people showed up. He might have been disappointed in the lack of response, but once he heard them play, he realized that he couldn’t have hand picked a better band himself. The newly formed ensemble wasted no time and threw together a PA, rented a U-Haul van, and started taking any gigs they could find throughout East Texas. In the fall of 2010, JB and the Moonshine Band released their debut album, Ain’t Goin’ Back to Jail. The sophomore release,Beer for Breakfast, followed in the spring of 2012 and was named one of the ‘Top Five Country Albums of the Year’ by Rolling Stone. The records produced six Top Tens and three consecutive No.1’s on the Texas Billboard Chart. Eric Church rocks a packed TD Garden

Eric Church played a full house at T.D. Banknorth Garden in Boston on Thursday night.  Early in the night, Church promised the crowd that he and the band was looking to break their previous record for concert length.  What followed was a record-setting 31 song set list packed with Church's #1 hits: "Drink in my Hand", "Talladega", and "Give Me Back My Hometown".  Church showed the crowd why he's considered the rock star of country music. Church shared with the crowd a myriad of Boston memories including the glory days of Celtics, as well as Church's early Boston shows at the Paradise, Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues.

The packed set list included tracks from all three of Church's studio albums.

Wearing a plain black tee and jeans, along with trademark Ray Bans, Church is so perfectly in his element on stage.  He commands attention throughout, keeps the crowd involved, and puts on a show just as much rock and roll as country.  Church clearly enjoys playing off that he's "The Outsider" but  Church concluded the show with hit "Springsteen" well past the Garden's usual 11:00 curfew.

Canaan Smith's EP, "Love You Like That" shows heartfelt lyrics and vocal range

Mercury Nashville recording artist Canaan Smith recently released the first single off his EP, Love You Like That. Smith, who has been on the road for two years since releasing “We Got Us” will be on the tour with Dierks BentleyKip Moore, and Maddie and Tae on the “Sounds of Summer”. Smith already has a top 10 hit under his belt, having co-written “Runaway” by Love and Theft. Smith also co-wrote “Black Tears” with Jason Aldean and will have a song co-written with Tyler Hubbard and Cole Swindell, “Party Wasn’t Over” on Swindell’s next album.

“Love You Like That” recently reached spot number #18 on the Billboard charts. The song gets your attention from the tip with lyrics like, “I could never do it like a pretty city boy, I’m more a fishin’ in the dark nitty gritty boy.” The song then takes almost a surprising, romantic turn with the “nitty-gritty boy” telling his love how he wants to love her.

“Love You Like That” leads into “Two Lane Road”, a sweet song where a boy invites a girl to run away with him. Smith’s strong vocal delivery is evident throughout the EP. “Mad Love” tells the story of one of those crazy break-up / make up relationships with Smith promising that the couple has what it takes to overcome those that doubt the relationship. “Hole In A Bottle” is an up-tempo good old fashioned drinking song. The highlight of the EP is the final track, “Stuck”. Smith’s vocals truly shine as he softly laments a lost love and a week spent at Virginia Beach.
