This year, the band will play the 1000th live performance of their career, and will tour the U.S. in their Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine co-branded tour bus they have affectionately named “Ole Smoky.” The band continues to average 175 live tour dates per year, which they’ve done for the last two years in markets spanning across 40 states. Hailing from East Texas, JB and the Moonshine Band’s story can only be explained as ‘fate.’ Comprised of drummer Gabe Guevara, guitarist Hayden McMullen, bassist Chris Flores and lead singer and guitarist JB Patterson, JB and the Moonshine Band was formed in 2009 when JB decided to give up his advertising career and start a band. When JB coordinated an open call audition in Tyler, TX, only three people showed up. He might have been disappointed in the lack of response, but once he heard them play, he realized that he couldn’t have hand picked a better band himself. The newly formed ensemble wasted no time and threw together a PA, rented a U-Haul van, and started taking any gigs they could find throughout East Texas. In the fall of 2010, JB and the Moonshine Band released their debut album, Ain’t Goin’ Back to Jail. The sophomore release,Beer for Breakfast, followed in the spring of 2012 and was named one of the ‘Top Five Country Albums of the Year’ by Rolling Stone. The records produced six Top Tens and three consecutive No.1’s on the Texas Billboard Chart.
