Eric Church played a full house at T.D. Banknorth Garden in Boston on Thursday night. Early in the night, Church promised the crowd that he and the band was looking to break their previous record for concert length. What followed was a record-setting 31 song set list packed with Church's #1 hits: "Drink in my Hand", "Talladega", and "Give Me Back My Hometown". Church showed the crowd why he's considered the rock star of country music. Church shared with the crowd a myriad of Boston memories including the glory days of Celtics, as well as Church's early Boston shows at the Paradise, Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues.
The packed set list included tracks from all three of Church's studio albums.
Wearing a plain black tee and jeans, along with trademark Ray Bans, Church is so perfectly in his element on stage. He commands attention throughout, keeps the crowd involved, and puts on a show just as much rock and roll as country. Church clearly enjoys playing off that he's "The Outsider" but Church concluded the show with hit "Springsteen" well past the Garden's usual 11:00 curfew.
